RECENT CONCERNS IN POLITICS:
As you are all aware, the Feds are working on passing health care reform. Why is this a concern? In 1998, the Feds passed the Adoption and Safe Families Act. Our present State Child Welfare laws (the Binsfield Acts) spun out of the creation of the Federal Adoption and Safe Families Act. As a result of this, parents lost their rights to parent their children. The States created intrusive legislation like the Binsfield Acts which totally underminded the family and dictated how parents must discipline, educate and rear their children.
The Binsfield Act gave Children's Protective Services vast powers to take children from their parents with little supervision from the state courts. In most states, Children's Protective Services was deemed the superior expert in child rearing and child welfare. The Feds, through the Adoption and Safe Families Act, began pumping federal dollars into the states to adopt and adhere to Federal Mandates in Child Welfare. The Feds paid the states $4.00 for every $1.00 the states spent in enforcing child welfare laws and programs associated with implementing and enforcing child welfare laws. In Michigan, during 1997 only 6,000 children were in foster care. In 2008, 30,000 children were in foster care.
In Michigan, children are taken from their parents when they are spanked, yelled at or are sent to neighbors to babysit when the neighbor is not a licensed daycare provider. Many children in foster care are mentally and physically abuse. Many are sexually molested or raped by the foster parents or other foster children in the home. There have been many incidents where children have died in foster care due to neglect or brutal murder at the hands of their foster parents.
In Michigan, many children are sent to foster homes under a plan for adoption. Biological parents are never given the chance to rehabilitate themselves: i.e. finish getting their GED, a job, counseling, appropriate housing, etc. Grounds for terminating a parents rights have become twisted. Grounds for termination: poverty, low-income housing, low paying jobs, poor credit, etc. Children's Protective Services has become a foster care industry in Michigan. It is the only viable industry in Michigan at this present date. Department of Human Services and Foster Care Parents are the only persons in Michigan with stable employment. Michigan has become a true socialist state.
The Health Care Reform in Washington will only solidify the current Child Protective Services Industry in Michigan. According to the "Obama Plan", everyone will be mandated to purchase health care insurance or will face jail time. These laws will completely destroy a parents right to parent their children. The Feds and the states will have complete control over parents through health care. Parents will not be allowed to make decisons in immunizations or medical care for their children. The states through the Federal government will have laws in place governing parents in decisions concerning medical care and immunization of their children. If you do not follow these laws or refuse to purchase health care insurance for your children, CPS will remove your children from your care and place them in state foster care. It will be deemed neglect and abuse of your child, criminality in the home, cruel treatment of your children and medical neglect. Remember the penalty for not purchasing health care insurance will be jail time.
All parents must fight this legislation. Vote your Representatives and Senators out of office during the November 2010 elections. As parents and as Americans, we should stand and say enough is enough! Children's Protective Services has too much power now. Furthermore, get involved with the Tea Party Groups and Town Hall meetings. As parents we need to stand and regain our precious right to parent our children. Get involved before it is too late!
