Retainers, Expenses and Costs:
MY POLICY IS TO BE UP FRONT WITH RETAINERS, FEES AND COSTS. Retainers vary depending on where you case is located: Retainers are down deposits on the total cost of your case. My fees are $150.00 per hour. My fees have been reduced from $250.00 per hour to $150.00 per hour due to the depressed economic conditions in Michigan. My fees are calculated on the quarter hour (.25). Initially, my hourly rate is deducted from your retainer amount. Once your retainer is exhausted, you will be required to pay an additional retainer so that I can continue your case and to allow me to deduct my hourly fees from your retainer. You will receive a monthly billing showing the hours that I have worked on your case and the hourly rate deducted from your retainer. You are responsible for expenses and costs: telephone calls and conferences, copying, mailing, subpeonas, record production, depositions, filing fees for Complaints, Motions, FOC Investigations, Services on your Parent-Agency Agreement, psychological evaluations, appraisals, tax consultants, and for my travel time to and from court, FOC, DHS and any mediation/arbitration offices.
